Perth Natural Newborn Photography
Welcoming a new little soul into your family doesn’t need props, wraps or perfect posing to be beautiful. My newborn sessions are calm, simple and completely baby‑led. No baskets. No froggy poses. No tight wrapping. Just your baby held close, your connection, and the quiet magic of those early days.
If you’re drawn to warm, natural images that feel honest and grounded, you’re in the right place.
My Approach
No props. No wraps. No stiff posing. Just real moments.
There’s a whole world of posed newborn photography — beanbags, props, intricate setups and tightly wrapped babies. It’s beautiful, but it’s not me, and it’s not what every family wants.
My approach is different:
- no props
- no tight wrapping
- no forced posing
- no pressure on baby
Instead, I focus on:
- the way your baby naturally curls into you
- the tiny details you’ll want to remember
- soft, simple light
- gentle, baby‑led moments
- honest connection between you and your family
Your baby is perfect exactly as they are — and that’s what I capture.
What a Session Feels Like
Slow, calm and completely baby‑led
Newborn sessions are never rushed. We allow plenty of time for feeds, nappy changes, cuddles and pauses. Your baby sets the pace, and we simply work around them.
You’ll be gently guided the whole way — where to sit, how to hold baby, how to relax your shoulders and breathe. There’s no pressure for your baby to “perform” or be perfectly settled. Real life is welcome here.
Where Sessions Take Place
Studio, your home, or on location — wherever you feel most at ease
Every family is different, and your newborn session should feel like you. You can choose from:
Studio
A calm, cosy space with soft light and simple, earthy tones. Perfect if you’d like a quiet, uncluttered setting without worrying about your home.
In your home
Your baby, in their own space. We use your bed, couch, nursery and little pockets of light to create relaxed, intimate images that feel deeply personal.
On location
If you’re drawn to the bush or open spaces, we can plan a gentle outdoor session once baby is a little older and you’re ready to be out and about. Think warm light, simple cuddles and lots of breathing room.
Wherever we are, the focus stays on connection.
What to Wear
Simple, comfortable and neutral
Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully — think creams, whites, greys, soft blues, muted pinks, beige, denim. Avoid big logos or heavy patterns.
For baby, a simple onesie, singlet or nappy cover is perfect. No outfits or costumes needed. Their tiny features and the way they curl into you are the focus.
If you’re unsure, you can send me a quick photo of your outfits before your session and I’ll help you choose.
When to Book
Book during pregnancy — choose your date once baby arrives
Most families book during pregnancy so we can pencil in a rough timeframe around your due date. Once baby arrives, we lock in a firm date when you’re feeling ready.
Newborn sessions usually take place in the first few weeks, but there’s no strict cut‑off. Whether your baby is 10 days or 10 weeks, we can still create beautiful, honest images of this season.

FAQs
Newborn Photography FAQs
Do you use props or wraps?
No. My newborn sessions are completely prop‑free and baby‑led. I don’t use baskets, elaborate setups or tight wrapping.
What if my baby doesn’t settle?
That’s completely okay. We take our time, follow your baby’s cues and work gently around feeds, cuddles and pauses.
Can siblings and parents be in the photos?
Absolutely. These sessions are about your family as a whole, not just baby on their own.
Do you come to our home?
Yes. You can choose studio, in‑home or on‑location.
Can extended family come to the session?
Newborn sessions are designed to be calm and quiet, so I only photograph immediate family during these sessions — parents and siblings.
If you’d like to include grandparents or extended family, we can either plan a separate session or you’re welcome to call me to chat through your circumstances and we can work out the best option.
Do we need to bring anything for baby?
Just a couple of plain, simple wraps for feeding, settling or keeping baby comfortable. I don’t use props, outfits or decorative wraps, so there’s nothing extra you need to prepare.
Ready to plan your newborn session?
If you’re drawn to natural, unposed newborn photos with no props, no wraps and no pressure, I’d love to chat. The next step is a simple studio meet‑and‑greet where we can talk through options, look at artwork and make sure everything feels right for you and your baby.
